The Magnetic Particle Separators are manufactured from ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and contain Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnets. These are the strongest available permanent magnets.
96-Well MPS™
The 96- Well MPS™ is designed for high-throughput bioseparation using magnetic particles and is supplied with two round bottom 96-Well Microplates.
The 96-Well MPS™ consists of an array of 24 Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) magnetic rods that fit between the wells of most commercially available 96-well microplates. For best results we recommend using microplates with round bottom wells. Capture takes place in approximately 60 seconds depending on the optimum working volume of 10 to 350 µl. When a 96-Well Microplate is placed on the MPS™, each magnetic rod attracts the magnetic particles in the four adjacent wells to the sides of the wells and away from the well bottom. This allows for easy removal of particle-free fluid. The particles are resuspended in buffer by simply removing the microplate from the magnetic stand; enabling thorough washing and elution.
